Exchanging Ideas for Transport

STRC | The approach

The Swiss transportation and land-use research community has traditionally been divided between many different disciplines and areas of interest. The purpose of this conference is to act as a forum that brings together academic researchers using different approaches to transportation research to present their results and to share ideas.

STRC 25th Edition

The Swiss Transport Research Conference (STRC) has been a cornerstone of multidisciplinary knowledge exchange and innovation in transportation and land use since 2001. Bringing together academics, researchers, and practitioners from Switzerland and beyond, STRC fosters collaboration and drives progress in all transportation-related fields.

The year 2025 marks the 25th edition of the STRC. This milestone coincides with a transportation landscape that is rapidly evolving, presenting both significant challenges and remarkable opportunities. Climate imperatives demand cleaner and more efficient mobility systems, while urbanization strains existing infrastructure and calls for innovative approaches to mobility and accessibility. Technological advancements, including automation, electrification, and data analytics, offer potential solutions but also raise critical questions about equity, safety, and societal impacts.

For over two decades, STRC has consistently served as a platform for advancing cutting-edge research, influencing transportation practices, and shaping policy directions both in Switzerland and internationally. This 25th edition offers a unique opportunity to reflect on lessons learned and accomplishments of the past, while addressing the pressing research questions of today and preparing for the challenges of tomorrow.

We warmly invite submissions for this landmark edition of STRC, taking place from May 14–16, 2025, at Monte Verità in Ascona, Switzerland.
